Shades Of Green Paint For Bathroom

Shades Of Green Paint For Bathroom

Choosing the perfect green paint color can be tough – there's so many shades! Sometimes all the paint color options are a little overwhelming.

It's important to consider that the undertones in green paint colors are easily affected by different lighting conditions. Because of this, you want to make sure to choose a green paint color that will look good with the lighting in YOUR home.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Test out paint colors in your home using Samplize Peel-and-Stick Samples. They make it extremely easy to test out paint colors on your walls. I shared my experience with Samplize in this article: Samplize Review | Testing Out Peel-and-Stick Colors.
  2. Use undertones, lighting, sheen, LRV's, and more to pick a paint color that's perfect for your home. Use my simple step-by-step process: How To Choose A Paint Color | Ultimate Guide.

OK, lets check out some of the best green paint colors!

Farrow & Ball (No. 47) Green Smoke is one of the most popular green paint colors this year. Everyone seems to love it, and I have to admit – I'm tempted to jump on the bandwagon and test it out too!

It's a medium-dark smokey olive color and it looks great in a variety room types and decor styles.

Aegean Teal by Benjamin Moore (2136-40)

Aegean Teal – LRV: 23.96 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Benjamin Moore – Aegean Teal (2136-40)

Aegean Teal was included in Benjamin Moore's 2021 trending color palette, and ended up winning the 2021 Benjamin Moore color of the year! Benjamin Moore is my favorite brand, so I'm always excited for their paint color of the year award.

Benjamin Moore Aegean Teal is featured in the article I wrote called: Trending Paint Colors | Best Paint Colors This Year!

This color is a dark and elegant shade of teal. I love the mixture of green and blue undertones – Benjamin Moore hit it out of the park with this color.

Here's how Benjamin Moore describes the color on their product page:

A blend of blue-green and gray, Aegean Teal 2136-40 is an intriguing midtone that creates natural harmony.

Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams (SW 6204)

Sea Salt – LRV: 63 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Sherwin-Williams Sea Salt (SW 6204)

Sherwin Willaim's Sea Salt is a nice lighter green color. It's a prefect choice for a room with limited natural light, or if you just want to avoid going with a bold dark green paint color.

This color is more of a neutral or gray leaning green that is part the of the Sherwin Williams Living Well, and Recharge series of paint colors.

To complete your color palette, Sherwin Williams recommends Summit Gray (SW 7669) as a coordinating color. Summit Gray is one of my absolute favorite gray paint colors, and it's featured in the Gray Paint Color Guide I wrote!

Rainwashed by Sherwin Williams (SW 6211)

Rainwashed – LRV: 59 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Sherwin-Williams Rainwashed (SW 6211)

Sherwin-Williams' Rainwashed paint color is medium-light green with a strong (but not overwhelming) green vibe.

It's a well balanced green color, with slightly more blue than red in its color base. Because of this, in certain lighting conditions it will have a slight teal / cyan look – however, this should be very minimal.

Palladian Blue by Benjamin Moore (HC-144)

Palladian Blue – LRV: 61.17 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Palladian Blue is one of my favorites on this list! I love how they kept it light, and it has the prefect balance of green and blue without shifting too far towards teal or cyan.

Here's how Benjamin Moore describes Palladian Blue:

All is calm and relaxed with this soft, airy blue that combines the blue of the sky with a touch of mother of pearl.

Dried Thyme by Sherwin Williams (SW 6186)

Dried Thyme – LRV: 21 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Medium-dark olive green is a trending category, and Dried Thyme by Sherwin-Williams is definitely one of the top contenders.

You can use Dried Thyme as a bold accent color, and relax knowing it's a beautiful timeless color that's going to age well (unlike some over-the-top accent colors are sure to fall out of style quickly).

Bespoke Green by Magnolia

Magnolia – Bespoke Green

I love all things Joanna Gaines and Magnolia, so naturally I had to include Bespoke Green on this list of top green paint colors! Magnolia describes the paint color as "A Dusty Olive Green."

Bespoke Green is another paint color in the extremely popular medium-dark olive category. With so many great options, it is so important to test out samples in your home – I recommend using Peel-and-Stick samples from Samplize!

Oyster Bay by Sherwin Williams (SW 6206)

Oyster Bay – LRV: 44 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

Sherwin Williams – Oyster Bay (SW 6206)

If you're looking for more of a neutral green, Oyster Bay by Sherwin-Williams is an excellent option. Compared to other strong green colors, Oyster Bay can look almost like a true gray paint color.

Don't let the 'almost gray' fool you – Oyster Bay can be the perfect understated pop of green, especially against a pure white trim.

All About Olive by PPG Paints (PPG1126-7)

Oyster Bay – LRV: 14 (LRV, or Light Reflectance Value is a scale commonly used by design professionals where 0 = absolute black and 100 is pure white.)

PPG Paints – All About Olive (PPG1126-7)

All About Olive is another top contender in olive category! If you're looking for a dark olive paint color, All About Olive by PPG Paints should color definitely be in the running.

Here's how PPG Paints describes the paint color:

All About Olive is a dark, shaded, glass bottle green with a viney undertone. It is a perfect paint color for the exterior trim or front door. Pair it with rich jewel tones.

Pigeon by Farrow and Ball (No. 25)

Pigeon by Farrow and Ball is one of my top recommendations for a green accent color. It's bold and beautiful without being overly eccentric.

Here's how Farrow & Ball describes their paint color:

A strong blue grey

This cosy and nostalgic blue grey is named after the colour of the bird often sighted around the London landscape. Softer and bluer than more contemporary grey shades like Mole's Breath, Pigeon is particularly suited for use in boot rooms, cloakrooms or darker spaces like studies and panelled rooms. It is also incredibly popular on kitchen islands with the more delicate Dimpse on units.

Farrow and Ball's Pigeon (No. 25) works well with other paint colors, and I love how it looks on the lower cabinets in the image below!
